Joanne Nosuchinsky acquired her affinity for the stage as a young child when she performed at her first dance competition and successfully won. A star indeed was born, but a discovery of scoliosis would cause a setback in her newfound passion. Determined to live a life on the stage, she would forgo surgery and wear a back brace for the next four years. This blossoming talent’s perseverance enabled her to act, sing and dance her way right into the Fine and Performing Arts Center at Howell High School. From there, Joanne crushed the competition and landed a full-tuition acting scholarship to attend the prestigious Rider University. During her college term she became a member of the theatre fraternity Alpha Psi Omega and exuded additional skills by graduating Summa Cum Laude.
This starlet calls Hell’s Kitchen home and her unstoppable spirit drives her to achieve any goal. This year she traded her server apron for a sash as she managed to land yet another first, the coveted crowning moment to represent the home of Broadway, big lights and her even bigger dreams, as Miss New York USA.
This beauty queen is a member of the Actors Equity Association and is currently performing in the Off-Broadway show, The Awesome 80’s Prom. While representing New York, Joanne will continue her philanthropy of supporting the arts. Currently, she is a volunteer with the All-Stars Project, a non-profit that encourages youth and community development through performance. Her conviction in supporting the arts is tenacious. She believes that creating a stable economy, global healthcare and a sustainable environment would all be in vain if we could not emote, empathize and communicate within our community. A global appreciation of the arts is needed to create a more peaceful world. What’s next for this talented brainiac? Hopefully, a successful film and theatre career that inspires audiences around the world.
